Relaxing Morning at Mount-Royal

Hey guys! Welcome back to Liee’s Corner! How was your week? Mine was pretty busy between school and work, but hey, I made it to the weekend! Earlier this week, I took advantage of my day off to go explore Mount-Royal with my friend. Even though I live quite close, I had never really been and I thought it would be a good way to relax and do a little exercise. I feel like when we want to go on an adventure, we always look elsewhere and forget to explore the places around us..

As you can see, it was kind of a grey day, but it was still as fun, and it prevented us from being too hot. We started our adventure at the Beaver’s lake pavilion. We then wandered off towards the art work that you can find close to the lake. From there, we went headed towards the Smith house, a little house where you can go to the bathroom, but also learn a lot as they had this kind of presentation with a lot of pictures and information, kind of like a mini museum. Our next stop was the rest area (belvedere Kadiaronk)

Behind the chalet, we got to admire this amazing view of the city. It’s rare that you get to see the whole city from afar like that. It is quite impressive! I rarely get the chance to see it like that. It is so weird, because it kind of makes you feel big since the buildings look so small, but also small, because there are so many.

We followed the signs to go up to the famous cross that is on the top of Mount-Royal. It took a little while to get there, but walking between the trees and all was so enjoyable and relaxing that we didn’t mind. Once you get there, you can see the cross, but you are so small compared to it and so close that it is kind of difficult to get a nice picture of it. You can stand under it though, which is kind of cool! We also went to the highest point of the mountain, the top. It is kind of boring, because the only thing you can see is a massive antena, An interesting fact about that boring antena is that it is used daily by Montreal’s emergency service (policemen, firemen, etc.) and also private companies. Finally, we headed back to the belvedere. It is fun because the path that leads to the cross and the top is a loop one, which means to go back down, you take another path (so you don’t have to walk the same path twice)

From there on, we went back down to the pavilion. We found this set of stairs that led back down and decided to go down them. Little did we know, there were like a thousand stairs to go down. I felt so bad for the people that were climbing them haha! I saw so many discouraged faces, it was kind of funny. Anyways, finally we made it back to our starting point and headed back to the car to go home.

I didn’t expect to enjoy myself this much. It really was relaxing to walk in the woods and all. There were plenty of people running and jogging, also families walking. It was just so fun! Also, exercise always makes me feel happy and relaxed. Even though it wasn’t anything intense, it was just what I needed! If ever you have a chance to explore around your neighborhood and go outside, please go! It’s so nice!

That is it for this weeks post! I hope you enjoyed it and that it made you want to go out and explore a little bit around you! Don’t forget to like and follow if you enjoyed! My social media is also linked down below and I post every Sunday. Also please comment down below if you have any feedback, I would love to read about what you think! Thank you so much for reading!

See you soon,

Liee xx
