Hi everyone! I hope you all have had an amazing week! Today I thought I would do someone a little bit different. I’m the kind of person that loves reading or watching the What I eat in a day type of posts/videos, and so, I thought I would give it a go! I like getting new recipe/snacks ideas since always eating the same thing can get quite boring. It is nice to mix it up! So here we go!
Since it was a day off today, I got up around 9 o’clock and pretty much immediately had breakfast. I used to be able to sleep in really late, but since I get up at 6 am three to four mornings a week and at 7:30 am once or twice, on the weekends I tend to wake up early on my own. Anyways, for my breakfast, I had a cinnamon and raisin toasted bagel. I put a little margarine on it, and I also cut up an apple to have with some Kraft’s natural peanut butter. I also drank a glass of water. I try to drink as much water as possible throughout the day, but I’m really bad at it haha.
I then took a couple of hours to digest a little bit before going out for a morning run. It was a beatiful day outside and I wanted to make the most of it before winter and the cold hits us! I also drank a second glass of water before going for my 5km run.
A little while after I came back, around 11:30, I had a little snack : unsalted dry roasted almonds and raisins. I really enjoy munching on nuts and dried fruits as a snack. It is so easy to put together and you can eat them pretty much anywhere, whether you are at home or on the go! I just had about a handful to fill myself a little bit before lunch time. I made sure to keep myself hydrated after my workout.
For lunch, I made myself a pesto and turkey sandwich. Now, it might sound weird, but I discovered this type of sandwich at school and immediately became obsessed with it!!! Basically, it is a toasted bagel (yes, I did eat two bagels in a day, oups) with cream cheese on one half and pesto on the other. Then, I put two slices of roasted turkey sandwich meat. I had my meal around 2pm. I usually eat a little earlier, but since I had had a late snack so I wasn’t hungry around 1 o’clock.
Around 4:30 pm, I started to feel a little hungry again. I just had a little homemade almond and cranberry energy ball as I knew dinner wasn’t too far away. I love to snack on these as they are so simple, but also very tasty! They are also pretty healthy. They contain oats, honey, ground almonds, natural nut butter, cranberries, coconut, chia seeds and flax seeds. They are so easy to make, you literally just put everything into a bowl and mix it all together. You then roll them into little balls and freeze them. You can find many interesting recipes on Pinterest!
Finally, for dinner, around 7pm, I had a lemon, herb and garlic chicken breast with a little basmati rice, corn, carrots and broccoli! I also had another glass of water with my meal. You’ll come to see that I don’t really drink anything else… Anyways, it was a very simple recipe, that I once again got off the internet. I would say my favorite type of meat would be chicken. I’m not really into red meat and I’m not the biggest fan of fish and seafood either. I find it has a weird texture and it bothers me haha. I had a pretty big piece of chicken in my plate, but to be honest, I didn’t eat it all haha. It was a bit much, I kept some for another time! That was the last thing I ate for the day. I know many people eat dessert after dinner, but I’ve never really had that “tradition” in my family, so I’m not really used to it. Sometimes I’ll have another snack during the evening if I am feeling a little hungry before bed!
So this is it guys! I really hope you enjoyed it and that it gave you a little inspiration.
