Good morning guys! Happy sunday! I hope you all had a start to the year. As it is already 2018, thought I would share with you my 2018 goals. I know most of the time, we set 10000 goals and resolutions and we pretty much never follow through. I still like to take advantage of the new year to reflect on the past year and on where I’m going and where I want to be. I think the trick is not to set too many or too drastic goals. When you set unrealistic goals, you then get discouraged when you don’t succeed, even though it is normal that you don’t. Remember that you can’t change a habit or create one in only a few days, and that you can only do so much at a time. So don’t be too hard on yourself. That being said, I will share with you the goals I have set for myself.
- Take better care of myself : Actually, that is a pretty big goal. But I think it is very important. When I say take better care, I mean mentally and physically. First of all, I want to exercise more. I’ve realised how much exercise has helped me mentally and physically. The only thing is, these past few months, I’ve been so busy with school and all that I have pushed exercising to the side. I really miss the energized and calm state it would put me in. That being said, I want to sign up to the gym and get my butt over there around 3 times a week. When it will be warmer outside, I will go back out running. I also really want to work on my mental health. I’m a very anxious person, and I have to come realise how much it affects me. It makes me feel so tired all the time, pretty moody and well, just generally unwell. For any of you that suffer with anxiety, you will know how difficult it is to move past it. I feel like it’s kind of a vicious circle, because it takes a lot of energy to work on yourself and on anxiety, but it drains me so much, that I never feel like I have the energy to do so. Anyways, this year, I will make it my main goal to work on myself physically and mentally.
- Running a 10km : To continue on a similar note, I would like to push myself really hard and run a 10km run this year. I’ve started running this year (I’ve also written a full blog post on it if ever you are interested!) This year, I almost signed up to run a half marathon, but I then realised that I just wasn’t ready for it. So this year, I’m challenging myself to something a little more realistic. I think it will really be a nice way to motivate myself to live a healthier lifestyle, but also a great achievement to be proud of.
- Starting a vlogging Youtube channel : Okay, so this is something that has interested me for a while. In the past, I have vlogged two trips to Cuba, edited them, and posted the on Youtube. The only thing is that they are private or unlisted. I find it really fun to film, look back on all of these memories, but I also like the whole editing process. It’s a nice way to let my creativity flow. The thing is, up to now, I’ve always been to shy to actually start a serious Youtube channel and really put myself out there. This year, I’m challenging myself to stop worrying about other people’s opinion and just let myself be happy.
- Working on my blog more : I really want to get more into blogging. Never missing a post, trying to engage more with other bloggers and all, because, to be honest, it is really something I enjoy. I think I, as plenty of other people I should imagine, get caught up in the business of daily tasks such as work, school, etc. That being said, my blog is one of the first things I push aside when things get busy, even though it is one of the things that make me happy. So this year, I want to make it a priority.
