Hello everyone! I’m back this Sunday with a little more personal post. I thought it would be interesting to share why I started blogging and all. Let’s dive right into it!
First of all, I’ve always been a nosy person. I love watching daily vlogs (more than “main channel videos” such as challenges and tags) and I also like reading blogs. So I’ve always been kind of interested in the whole “sharing my life on the internet”.
I’ve also always been interested in writing and literature. I used to write a lot in little notebooks about how I was feeling, what was going on and even had started to write a story. I didn’t write much of the story, I got carried away with other things such as school, other projects and all, and kind of let it go to waste. I also have enjoyed reading since as long as I can remember. When I was younger, I used to be able to read a whole book within a day or two. All that to say, reading and writing have always been fun things to me.
Another reason I started this blog is that I felt it would be nice to have a creative outlet. I’m a very logical and mathematical kind of girl. The thing is, I’m also a creative person. I love writing, singing, listening to music, baking, etc. In school, I get to be very logical and mathematical. My calculus class thanks me for that part of me. The only thing is, rare are the moments where I get to be creative in school or at work. This new project gave me the opportunity to let that other side of me out.
Speaking of school and work, I feel like when I am in school, it becomes my number one priority, leaving me with little time to do anything else. I am a perfectionist and so I spend way too much time on school projects. That being said, I wanted to find something else to work on, that wasn’t school related so that I would have other interesting projects to work on. Something to take my mind off school. I feel it is a healthy thing to work on different things rather than stress over school and just studying all day long. Of course, working hard at school is also very important, but my goal was to find a balance.
Moreover, to be honest, at first, even though I love watching vlogs and all, it felt kind of intimidating to put myself out on the internet via Youtube. Of course, every creator has a say in what gets put online, but it felt a lot more invasive. Like, right now, I am sharing how I feel, but you still can’t see me though. It makes it easier, it feels like you guys have less of me to judge. All that to say, blogging, instead of vlogging, made me feel as if I had more control over what you guys could or couldn’t see and made me more comfortable. This year though, as mentioned earlier, I do want to start vlogging more. I feel like it’s time for me to stop fearing it and truly let myself enjoy filming, editing and posting on Youtube. I have vlogged a couple of trips in the past and I truly enjoy rewatching them, so I really want to film more days and create more videos to remind me of fun days.
Finally, I find that blogging motivates me to go out more and try out new things that would make for interesting blog posts. As a home-y kind of person, I feel like that gives me just the right amount of motivation to actually go out and see more rather than just staying indoors and in my comfort zone. I’ve come to realise that I actually do enjoy going out and seeing new things, so I do it for the blog, but also for myself.
I think that sums it up pretty well. I hope this post has given you a little bit of insight on what motivated me to start blogging and also why I enjoy it. Thank you so much for reading this post, it means a lot to me! Don’t forget to like it if you’ve enjoyed it and also to follow either via email or WordPress.
